The AA asked us to engage their learner drivers on Facebook and use the platform to give them a little extra help. That way, The AA get better pass rates and attract more learner drivers. We developed this Facebook application that records their scorecards and identifies the driver’s weakest areas, showing what they need to concentrate on to improve their driving.

Nike invited us to film in store at one of their running club events. And of course, we’d never say no to Nike!

The World Wildlife Fund asked us to help drive sign up for Earth Hour via Facebook. The event tied in with The Six Nations Rugby tournament and we tied the two together used a fangated Facebook data capture app. Users could sign up via the app at the same time as being entered into a ticket giveaway for a Six Nations game. WWF would then use that data to mail the participants nearer the time to remind them to turn their lights out for Earth Hour (31st March 8.30pm)!

We went along to London Fashion Week recently to film the preparation for Elliott J Frieze’s Autumn/ Winter Collection for 2011.

We’ll say no more and let you take a look at the video! Enjoy

Swiss Airline Helvetic Airways wanted an innovative way to promote their free return flights to its business passengers flying out of Wales’s International Airport in Cardiff.

Having spoken to their media buyers, gained a good understanding of Helvetic’s core audience and weighed up the potential sales vs PR possibilities, we proposed a QR code campaign across airport ad boards, in flight magazines and on door drop vouchers made out to look like he airline’s tickets.

When scanned the codes linked through to a downloadable voucher with which travellers could claim their free return flight from a number of European destinations. We were able to measure key statistics like number of scans, location of scanners, busiest scanning days, and the handsets used to scan the codes.  Over 100 return flights were claimed within a month and Helvetic are looking at even more innovative ways to incorporate QR marketing into their future initiatives.

We travelled to East London recently to hook up with two of the country’s hottest street dancers Twist and Pulse, and their collective. We heard the boys were looking to take driving lessons, so we hooked them up with our clients, BSM (British School of Motoring) to give them free lessons in exchange for a day of their time and some cool moves.

Having scripted and shot the video, we also secured exclusivity so that it sat on BSM’s Facebook page for the first week. That page was locked to non fans if anyone wanted to watch the video in that first week, they had to become a fan. Bearing in mind that T&P’s fan base are of (or approaching) driving age, this gave BSM a relative audience to market to going forward. We’ve added around 2000 fans so far and the video has been viewes thousands of times across Facebook, You Tube and everywhere else it’s being shared.

We are working with The Academy of International Sports to help drive awareness of their 11 week Ski and Snowboard Instructor training courses, held in Jasper, Alberta.

We’re working to a 12 month digital and social strategy, have redeveloped their website, created a blog that feeds the new website with fresh content, created Facebook, You Tube, Twitter and Flickr accounts and have developed an editorial / content calendar that gives shape to all the activity. We recreated the website’s sign and enquiry forms to sit on a bespoke Facebook tab and established an ongoing Facebook advertising campaign that drove fans to those enquiry forms. The results have been outstanding: The Facebook page has grown to 2000 likes within 6 months, The blog has received over 8,000 views, and most importantly, course enquiries have risen by an amazing 300%. We are now using our social activity to keep in touch with course delegates throughout their stay in Jasper, and are collecting content from the course (including videos, images and blog entries) to market 2012′s course which looks set to be the company’s best selling course ever.

peacocks image

We’re working with Peacocks, one of the UK’s largest retailers to engage and maintain a close connection with their avid fanbase. Having added over 20,000 Facebook Fans in 10 weeks we’re having a great time working to a carefully crafted editorial calendar of competitions, giveaways, product promotions, company news and general fan banter. We’re driving traffic and revenue through the main Peacocks site, and are handling customer enquiries through Twitter. Moving into the new year we’ll be developing some very cool social apps, and looking at mobile marketing and QR codes to make sure that Peacocks offer their customers that little extra to build on the momentum we’ve created. Watch this space…
British School of Motoring image

We’ve taken the wheel at one of Britain’s best loved brands, BSM, to deliver their social media and mobile marketing engagement activity. British School of Motoring turned 100 this year, and celebrated not only with a great party and celebrity race at Silverstone – the home of motor racing – but also by launching an iPhone app and fully embracing the social web.

So far we’ve created some bespoke Facebook landing pages (web traffic from Facebook has risen by over 100% since), launched our passer’s polaroids campaign, incorporating email and mobile marketing, started the BSM blog, and generally put BSM’s social ducks in a row. We’re looking forward to growing our content and engagement strategy with BSM, and are delighted to be in the driving seat with this iconic British Brand.

Facebook’s problem with ‘oversharing’

by Joe in on 16 February 2012

At f8 Facebook introduced a series of apps that automatically share the actions you take within them. They’re great for finding new content, give great exposure to the companies who developed them, and help Facebook to learn more about you as a user. They also ruin the News Feed.
